Windows XP Service Pack 3 - better than vista?

Find out yourself!

Well If you have read my previous Hack Attack on How you can download Windows Vista SP1 through a Hack and it worked for you then here is another Hack that will allow you to download Windows XP SP3 RC1 directly from Microsoft. Windows XP SP3 will be the final service pack that we will see for the World’s biggest Operating System from Microsoft. SP3 will bring a host of bug fixes and some new features borrowed from Vista.

Well here is how you can download SP3 straight from Microsoft. Follow the instructions carefully and you’ll be running Windows XP SP3 in no time. Grab yourself a cup of Coffee as you do this..

Don’t fret too much, this won’t take much time. I can assure you that..

  • Download this file ( WindowsXPSP3Hack.cmd ). Once you have downloaded the file, login as administrator and run the file by double clicking it. Wait for the Confirmation Message on screen.
  • The Above file adds a few entries to the Windows Registry that makes Microsoft think that you are a part of the Private beta program.
  • Check for new updates on Windows Update. You should now see Windows XP SP3 listed in the available updates.
  • Download and install it. Reboot whenever necessary.

Please note this hack is the exact way Microsoft e-xpects its beta testers to try Windows XP SP3 out, so you don’t have to worry too much about Microsoft catching hold of you.

I tried this on Windows XP Machine and this hack worked like a charm. Let me know if this works for you.. If you can’t wait for Microsoft to release SP3 officially then this hack is for you.

Spread the word around, so that many more people can download the 3rd Service Pack.

Want a vacation? GET ARRESTED!

must I say anything?

"Hack" your firefox/ie/opera browser!

When most people think of hacks they think of malicious tools, used to do malicious things. These "hacks" are more of work a rounds that can help you navigate the internet better! To use these "hacks" simply copy the code into the address bar, or make a bookmark and copy code as address. For these to work you must have javascript advanced enabled, you can do this by:
options > web features (tab) Enable Javascript Advanced
This is not a step-by-step, this is simply a numbered list, as a reference!

1. https://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/forms.html - has a couple "hacks" that I use, such as "remember password," this remember password function bypasses what normal password rememberer's would.

2. To temporarily edit any website copy:
javascript: document.body.contentEdit able = 'true'; document.designMode = 'on'; void 0
into the address bar after a page loads, and it'll allow you to edit the page to your liking!

3. Resize browser window:

javascript: resizeTo(1,1); - hide your screen!

4. Mess with image placing:

javascript:R=0; x1=.1; y1=.05; x2=.25; y2=.24; x3=1.6; y3=.24; x4=300; y4=200; x5=300; y5=200; DI=document.images; DIL=DI.length; function A(){for(i=0; i-DIL; i++){DIS=DI[ i ].style; DIS.position='absolute'; DIS.left=Math.sin(R*x1+i*x2+x3)*x4+x5; DIS.top=Math.cos(R*y1+i*y2+y3)*y4+y5}R++}setInterval('A()',5); void(0);

5. Right click on sites that don't want you to:

If you use Internet Explorer 6 and 7

  1. Click “Tools”->”Internet Options”
  2. Click the “Security” tab.
  3. Click “Custom Level”
  4. Scroll down to the “scripting” section.
  5. Set “Active Scripting” to “disable” (Active scripts are programs written in Javascript)
  6. Click “Ok”. Restart your internet browser.
If you use Firefox
  1. Go to “Tools” -> “Options”
  2. Click “Web Features”
  3. Untick enable JavaScript

ADDED BONUS: Enable disabled regedit
REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
Copy and paste that code into a run window.

Have a computer collecting dust?

I recommend this for people with an old computer, or computers, that wants a new use of them! I'd like to tell everyone how to download and install a very stable, and user friendly operating system! Luckily for all of you rich mac users, and you pasty windows users, this operating system is compatible with both system types! The operating system is linux! Yes, I know what you're thinking, the scary, 16-bit terminal with a blinking dash! Lucky for you, linux has made a few thousand updates since the version your thinking of! If your a die hard "normal" user, and aren't ready to make a leap in the right direction, I'm not here to convince you otherwise. You can google "ubuntu" if you want to learn more (The distro I'll be telling you how to "install.")

Requirements:
  • Good internet -so you won't go insane while downloading
  • Dvd/Cd burner -so you can make a disk!

Steps to Download and Install:
  1. - Go here: http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download (if you want the most supported version of ubuntu) Make sure you get the desktop edition unless you want a 16-bit server.
  2. - Go here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto (to learn how to burn an iso file to cd or dvd) If you already know how, you can skip this step.
  3. - Insert the bootable cd or dvd that you just made and restart your computer.
  4. - The great thing about most good linux distributions (distro for short) is that they are usually "live cds" which means you can boot from the cd and test the operating system before you install it! Just remember, when you boot off the live cd, it'll be ALOT slower than running off the hard drive!
  5. - After your all booted up, you'll have your standard u.i., on the desktop there will be an icon that says "install." After you check out the operating system, and decide to use linux, simply double click that and you'll have an easy, user friendly setup. If you still want to have your mac or windows operating system, when in the install, it'll ask you about "partitioning" make sure you Don't click "Partition whole hard drive." Because that'll remove any other operating system on the machine and leave you with ubuntu.

Look at this video, then try to resist the mighty overlord, ubuntu!

The year 2000, bush won't tell you what to do!

Then- The humble bush, not revealing his plans for the future...

Now-
bush is threatening to send 150k troops to be employed the week before Christmas if the money is limited even a little! Even though congress has tried to reason with him, and has even said that the budget over in Iraq, on the current funding will last for eight months!

How can I rename a website into one that looks good?

Easily! All you have to do is head on over to www.dot.tk , they are a free, and if chosen, unregistered way to rename your site. For example, I turned http://computer-and-you.blogspot.com/ which is a clustered website name into Computer-and-You.tk

Which looks cleaner, and is easier to type in.

It does this by simply "renaming" your (or someone else's) site to (WHAT EVER YOU WANT).tk . That's right, it doesn't even have to be your site! This technology will surly help you out around the internet in some way!

Just a few ways you could use this would be-
  • rename a long website name
  • turn your ebay auction into an easily advertised store
  • trick your friends
  • have a good laugh
  • ect...
